Mandarin Project Virtual World

Are you interested in learning about shopping and negotiating at street markets in China? The Cognitive and Immersive System Lab is evaluating the benefits of a language learning tool. We’re developing a new, immersive environment for learning Mandarin and are looking for novice to intermediate non-native speakers who are interested in learning more about negotiating in China.

This study will take place during February and early March of 2020. You will be required to come to the RPI campus 2-3 days a week for 2 hours. You will receive a $100 gift card for completing the entire study.

Through this study you can learn how to shop with vendors on a street market in China and will better understand the culture of negotiating in China.

If you’re interested and want to know more information, please email Jaimie Drozdal at drozdj3@rpi.edu! Please keep in mind that we are looking for novice to intermediate non-native speakers of Chinese (equivalent to someone who has taken 1-2 semesters of Chinese).
