Researcher, MIT-IBM Watson AI Lab
Shiyu Chang is a researcher at the MIT-IBM Watson AI Lab, working closely with Prof. Regina Barzilay and Prof. Tommi Jaakkola. He works on machine learning and its applications in natural language processing and computer vision. Currently, he is interested in learning self-explainable models for complex computational tasks.
Prior to his current position, Shiyu was a researcher at the IBM T.J. Watson Research Center.
Education
He got his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. all from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His Ph.D. advisor is Prof. Thomas S. Huang.
