Jennifer Zhang is an American-born Chinese who grew up in New York, New York and graduated from Stuyvesant High School. At Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Jennifer is studying a dual major in Computer Science / Games & Simulation Arts & Sciences. Jennifer is currently on the Dean's Honor List, and a part of the National Society of Leadership and Success. As her senior project, Jennifer is currently working on her own experimental game to depict her struggles with cultural barriers. After graduation, Jennifer plans to continue her education with Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute's coterminal program. Jennifer has always been in interested in language learning. In high school, she was heavily involved with the Japanese community in her school. She was a co-director of a JPOP (Japanese pop) dance crew, as well as a member of the Japanese National Honors Society. She received a 5 on AP Japanese, and got a gold certificate in the National Japanese Exam. At Rensselaer, Jennifer decided to switch focuses to Mandarin to close the language and cultural barrier between her and her family. She excelled in her Mandarin classes, and is currently working with CISL on the Language Learning Environment Mandarin Project.
